Club Champs ours again...

Job one for season 2010 is completed and we must all take time out before the finals to draw breath and appreciate this huge achievement for the second year in a row.

It was just 10 seasons ago when the club was forced into 4th division and there were 7 players at training 2 weeks before the season and we had even contemplated merging with Barker. Now winning seems second nature as we just love to roll the sleeves up and do the hard yards for the club and each other. On Saturday night the Commodore was full of the season's stories and triumphs and was nice to take stock and enjoy the moment. It is hard to believe we are the same club and in fact we have not come below 2nd on the club champs since our promotion to 1st Division which is truly amazing.

Everyone asks when we are going to crumble like we are some deck of cards held together by few. It takes many to run this club and we need to keep this train rolling and working hard to make all this happen.

There are hundreds on man hours that many of you don't see and for those that turn up 1 hour before their game and head off after reserving would have no idea of the effort the coaching team put in fielding the teams and chasing you lazy buggers up to compete each week.

The committee this year have ensured the move to Koola was a success and the social events this year have been brilliant. To get Matt Preston to Red faces was one of the major coups of the year!!

Now our heads are turned to another finals campaign. Winning is all about attitude and belief in each other and executing the game plan. Finals footy is why we all play for and the increased intensity and speed is noticeable so enjoy the coming weeks and let's dig in and win some premierships.
